Spring has Sprung in Barcelona!
It’s time to put the onesies back in your wardrobes and blow the cobwebs from your flip flops as spring has finally hit the city. Last week, we were all crying about losing an hour’s sleep but now we’re basking on Barceloneta beach until the sun goes down!
Here, we look at five ways to enjoy the spring season in Barcelona.
- Head to Ciutadella
Ciutadella park is a favourite with the locals and it’s obvious why. Less sand and tourists than the beaches and lots more entertainment. Whether you’re attempting to climb the mammoth, marvelling at the circus tricks or rowing your way to Olympic fame in the lake, Ciutadella is the place to be this spring.
- Chill on a Terrace
What more hits the spot than a refreshing caña on a warm day? Head to Flaherty’s and bask in the sunlight on our comfortable, welcoming terrace where half pints are all just €2.60. With a wide range of beers and ciders on draft, including Brew Dog IPA, Erdinger Guinness, Murphys, Strongbow and all of your favourite local and premium lagers, you’lI be spoilt for choice. Not to mention it’s a great place to meet or make friends and our staff are always up for a chat.
- Explore the City
Getting around Barcelona can be an adventure in itself. Be sure to catch a rickshaw ride along the port or hire a Segway along the promenade. There are also bike excursions that run through the city centre for a fast-paced tour of the city. Fancy a walk? Barcelona is one of the best cities to stroll around with sightseeing opportunities at every turn.
- Hit an Event
With Sonar and Primavera edging closer and closer, it’s time to get yourself in the pre-summer party mood. Brunch Electronik is already exploding at Poble Espanyol once a fortnight and the Reckon at The Rooftop opening party is one event that can’t be missed this April.
- Enjoy a Cocktail
A refreshing mojito on a spring evening can give you a post-work perk up and a Friday night Cosmo is perfect for channelling your inner Carrie Bradshaw. Flaherty’s offers 2 for 1 cocktails every night of the week so pop down and decide which is your favourite. Guys, don’t feel left out – come and see if you can handle our Sunday Long Island!
